classic melbourne

perchance I passed by the classic bicycle shop in st kilda. I'd known of the shop, and that it has been around for quite a few years. if the shop was open on a monday, I would have liked to have been able to ask the owner if they were primarily responsible for so many classic avon bicycles gracing the streets of Melbourne... (i.e. is business better than ever at the moment?) i think though they're right to be discerning on which avon's they import - avon got some pretty futuristic bicycles in their catalogue that i'm not so sure melbourne is ready for.

all the best to them at the classic if you ask me...

NZ chic

on a recent trip to New Zealand TTF, by chance, saw in the saturday papers a feature article on "cycle chic". it seems that the prominence and influence of Copenhagen Cycle Chic has reached far and wide, and is influencing at least some cyclists the world over...

however from the numbers of cyclists TTF observed not wearing lycra, it seems that the publicity and journalism is ahead of the actual numbers of cycle chic new zealanders.
